Vancouver Law Firm - Director of Administration (Closed)


The Opportunity

Our client, a mid-size litigation law firm with over 40 staff, is seeking an experienced legal administrator, preferably with an extensive background in HR and expertise in litigation case management, to oversee their operations for a fixed two-year contract, with possibility of extension.

Reporting to the Managing Partner, the Director of Administration will be responsible for day-to-day HR, facilities and IT, and overall law firm administration at their office in Vancouver.

Some specific accountabilities include:

·       Overseeing the HR function of the firm

·       Leading recruitment, employee relations, performance management and other HR matters, in conjunction with internal managers

·       Providing support to individuals and teams on escalated HR issues

·       Overseeing firm training and onboarding for new staff

·       Overseeing the IT staff and managing external IT vendors

·       Overseeing facilities management, including liaising with property managers and managing equipment and leases

Essential Qualities and Compensation

This position will be optimal for an experienced law firm manager or administrator looking to contribute their excellence in an established law firm environment for a defined period of time (two years). The ideal candidate will come with a depth of experience in human resources. Experience in litigation is preferred and an understanding of IT is an asset, though not necessary. Please note, our client is opening to considering this position on a part-time (3-4 days/week) basis, depending on the candidate’s experience and interest.

Salary will be commensurate with experience, between $120,000 to $150,000+.
